Steam Your Lungs!
Ensure that you keep your mucus membranes moist, and reduce the risk of lesions on your lungs, by inhaling steam everyday (don't burn yourselves!).
Whilst this won't stop you being infected by Covid-19, it will lessen the chances of you developing pneumonia (one of the possible dangerous side effects of a serious Covid-19 infection).

Hibernation Advice
As we all enter a period of global hibernation, take some free advice from someone (me) who comes from a naval (Merchant and Royal) family.
Devise a daily routine (cooking, eating, cleaning, working, exercise, relaxing, watching crap on TV, drinking etc) that you stick to.
Let routine be your friend, it will get you through this!

Don't Binge on Fear - It Will Kill You!
Private Eye is a font of useful information. Their resident doctor (M.D.) says in latest issue ”Evidence suggests that if you're fearful and anxious when and after you contract a virus, it makes the symptoms and long-term sequelae worse. And the UK is currently bingeing on fear”

Trump and Crises
President Trump is reasonably capable when it comes to handling crises that he has deliberately created.
However, I am not so sure about his capabilities when it comes to handling crises that he hasn't created.

A Little History Lesson - Calm Down!
I have lived through:
- the oil shock
- the three day week
- numerous market/property crashes
- dock strikes
- miners' strikes
- power workers' strikes
- sugar shortages
- petrol shortages
- power cuts
- potato shortages
- the drought of 1976 and corresponding water shortage
- toilet roll shortages (yes, a genuine shortage as opposed to a panic bought "temp out of stock" issue)
All of the above might have been, at the time, inconvenient; but they are in the past (forgotten by many) and we moved onwards and upwards.
Whatever we face now will pass, and we will move onwards and upwards!

The News Headlines
I am so old that I remember a time when the news headlines tended to change on a daily basis.
Over the last two years the headlines have been as follows (in chronological order):
- Brexit
- General election
- Coronavirus
Sigh, oh for a simpler more varied time!

Apply Common Sense - #COVID19
We are entering the #COVID19 phase where common sense by everyone needs to be applied:
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly
- Avoid large gatherings
- Try to work from home
- Make sure you have food and basic medicines for a possible period of self isolation
- If you think you have the symptoms, call 111. DO NOT GO TO THE HOSPITAL OR DOCTOR!
