People become terribly stressed when they realise that they have painted themselves into a corner.
They have no need to be stressed, for the solution is simple. Just walk back across the painted area, and paint over the footprints.
In the event you don't have enough of the original paint to do that, then either change the colour or simply say that the footprints were part of the original design.
Simples!
