Europe's Lurch To The Right
Europe's lurch to the right is a symptom of the fact that voters feel alienated, afraid and have given up on the mainstream parties.
The solution?
The mainstream parties need to promote competent people who have principles, charisma, a sense ethics and who actually listen to the voters and engage with them (even if that means disagreeing with them).
Oh, and by the way, promising voters the moon really doesn't work anymore!

Advice To The Media
If you want to avoid being trolled and manipulated by certain politicians, then stop focussing on trivia and what the politician says (which he/she does for effect and as a means of chaff). Focus on the major issues and significant actions (if any) taken by said politician.

The Measure of Success
The measure of success of a leader (be it political or business) is that person's legacy (financial, crime statistics, general standard of living, wars being waged etc), and the nature of the leader/system that follows.

Knife Fights
Knife fights are very unbecoming, especially when conducted in high political office, and invariably end with the wrong person winning.
