When planning a military operation, do not under any circumstances share your plans before the operation with the USA. Only brief the USA afterwards.
That way you can be assured that the plans won't be leaked to the media or your enemy!

Every time there is a change of President in the USA, the media and certain politicians/political commentators wax lyrical about the so called "special" relationship and fret whether it will continue under whoever is the new President.
Whilst personal chemistry (or lack of it) between the President and the Prime Minister can be a help or hindrance to the optics of the interactions between the USA and UK, there has never been a "special" relationship in the sense that the media and politicians would like to have us believe.
The USA and UK, because of their shared heritage, history and economic/security ties will continue to work together no matter who is President or Prime Minister. However, never be under any illusion that the UK will be treated "specially", the USA always acts in what it perceives to be its own best interests!
It beggars belief that an American president tweets that non white American born citizens (ie Americans) should go back to their own countries. So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly......— Donald J. Kim Jong Un definitely made the “deal of the century”: he has met Trump three times after acquiring nuclear weapons and ICBMs, and not only not given up any of them but has probably built a dozen more in the process, all while deflating max pressure. Iran would love that deal. pic.twitter.com/oa0rMweJZt— Vipin Narang (@NarangVipin) July 8, 2019
